It was a beautiful sunny day for the games at Nethybridge at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains and it was enjoyed by a good crowd of spectators. The slightly elevated piping platform is located outside the games area and is surrounded by seating for those interested. Lorient Results: MacCrimmon Trophy and Piobaireachd

The day after securing the lucrative MacCrimmon Trophy, Northern Ireland’s Robert Watt completed a very successful visit to the Lorient Festival in Brittany by taking first in the Piobaireachd competition as well. Aboyne Games Results

There was a bumper crowd of about 12,000 at Aboyne today, writes Jack Taylor. Calum Brown from Cults, Aberdeen, was overall champion with firsts in March, Strathspey and Reel, Hornpipe and Jig and fifth in Piobaireachd.
