The Dunvegan Medal is one of our most important piobaireachd awards. Pipers have to submit four tunes from a list of MacCrimmon or MacCrimmon-related tunes. Skye Gathering Draws Announced

Piping Convenor Cameron MacFadyen has announced the draw  for the Dunvegan Medal and ceol beag competitions at this year’s Skye Gathering. This will take place on Tuesday and Weds. 8/9th August 2017, the ceol mor in the Skye Gathering Hall, Portree, at 8.30am. Competitors in the for medal winners’ Col Jock MacDonald Clasp competition will notified of that competition separately. 1. The new Piping Convenor of the Skye Gathering, Mr Cameron MacFadyen, has issued updated rules and the entry form for this year’s competitions to be held at Portree on August 8th and 9th. Entries for the Dunvegan Medal and light music competitions will be accepted in the two months between the beginning of April and the end of May.
