The annual, two-day Skye Gathering piping competitions began yesterday in Portree. Twenty-six entered for the Dunvegan Medal contest for which pipers have to submit four MacCrimmon tunes. Field Marshal Are Scottish Pipe Band Champions

Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, Northern Ireland, are the new Scottish Champions after a hard fought contest at a warm, dry Levengrove Park, Dumbarton. The win gave P/M Richard Parkes his second championship of the season. Airth Games & Braemar Junior Games Results

Airth Highland Games, held Saturday 23rd July, attracted a healthy entry of adult and juvenile pipers, writes Roddy Livingstone.
