This prestigious contest for pipers aged under 22 was held on Saturday, October 22nd, at Lochnell Castle, Benderloch, Argyll. The overall champion piper with most points in the Piobaireachd and March, Strathspey & Reel sections was Ruairidh Brown. He is pictured above with overall trophy and the new William McCallum Snr. The Lochnell Intermediate Piping Championship takes place tomorrow, October 22, at the picturesque Lochnell Castle, Argyll, under the auspices of the Argyllshire Gathering Trust. Seven of the world’s top young players will compete in Piobaireachd and March, Strathspey & Reel. The pipers will be given their chosen tunes this evening Friday October 21.
