Aberdeen Games Cancelled

Aberdeen Games due to take place today, June 16, at the city’s Hazelhead Park have been cancelled. Heavier than expected overnight rain has left the park waterlogged. Refunds for spectators and entrants will be refunded. The piping events had had a higher than expected entry.

These games were held in the grounds of Glamis Castle, Angus, today, Sunday, June 9. A clean sweep for Calum Brown, Aberdeen. The weather was mixed with a cool breeze, mostly dry. Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate (pictured after the results were announced) are the new British Pipe Band Champions winning today at Grant Park, Forres, Moray, in cold, changeable weather conditions. St Laurence O’Toole from Dublin are the new UK Pipe Band Champions winning today in Bangor, Northern Ireland, in perfect weather conditions. SLOT secured two firsts for piping, a fourth for drumming and second for ensemble. Two medleys were required in G1.
