In a nice touch the organisers have invited previous winners still living to attend for a weekend of good music, hospitality and friendship. The 10th annual Captain John A MacLellan MBE Memorial Piping Championship was held at the Army School at Inchdrewer House, Edinburgh, today. B & C grades were oversubscribed, good A grade entries but P grade entries were, by comparison, poor. The P Piobaireachd and the Hornpipe and Jig were streamed live over Facebook. Twenty bands and 30 drum majors from Northern Ireland attended the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow in an overall entry of 190 bands and 44 drum majors from 15 countries. The only World title claimed by an NI Branch band was G3A by Tullylagan, together with the drum corps title. This was a great achievement for a band celebrating its Centenary.
