British Columbia, Canada: Scotfest Results

I have the results from our most recent Highland Games, Scotfest BC, which was held in Coqutilam, BC (a suburb of Vancouver) on June 17, writes Zephan Knichel.  In total we had 127 solo competitors and 16 bands competing. The Open Piobaireachd had generous prize money with first receiving $1,000Cdn (£600), 2nd $500 (£300), and 3rd $250 (£150). Aberdeen Games Results

It was an almost perfect day for pipes at Aberdeen’s Hazelhead Park yesterday (June 18) – warm with light cloud cover, writes Piping Convenor Dr Jack Taylor. Nineteen seniors and ten juniors played, and it was encouraging to see three in the new chanter class, requiring two parts of a march. These Games were held in the grounds of Glamis Castle, Angus, last Sunday, June 11. The castle was the early home of Elizabeth Bowes Lyon, the late Queen Mother.
