Robert MacNeill of the BC Pipers’ Association reports: The 2018 Boney Music Memorial Invitational Piping Competition and Recital was a great success, raising over $2170 [£1,228 approx.] for brain cancer research for the British Columbia Cancer Foundation, $828 [£468 approx.] of it from the livestreaming viewers. Kevin McLean of the British Columbia Pipers Society has been in touch to notify us of the livestream of the Boney Invitational solo competition this Saturday (Feb 24). By our calculations the stream begins at 3am early on Sunday UK time – which will not suit everyone! Perhaps the stream will be available for some time after. Kevin MacLean has sent this from the BC Pipers’ Association: ‘Andrew Lee of Surrey, British Columbia, stunned the audience during his 20-minute performance and was named champion of the second annual Boney Music Invitational.
