I had long advocated for a change in the siting of the competition arenas at Dumbarton, so there was some satisfaction in discovering just that. No longer are the bands exposed to the full, raw blast from the Clyde estuary. RSPBA officials have confirmed that the Grade 1 Ensemble and Drumming results from Saturday’s Scottish Pipe Band Championship at Dumbarton were placed in the wrong columns in the summary sheets. Inveraray are the 2024 Scottish Champions after a high standard Medley contest at a warm Levengrove Park, Dumbarton. The win gave P/M Stuart Liddell his first championship of the season.
