‘Recordings feature the prize winners in the Gold Medal, the Silver Star Former Winners’ March, Strathspey and Reel, and the A-grade Hornpipe & Jig.

Arthur Remembered: A memorial event for one of Argyll’s finest piping sons, Arthur Gillies, will be held this Sunday afternoon in Kilchrenan Village Hall from 12 noon. The blurb reads: ‘Everyone is warmly invited to the Arthur Gillies Memorial Gathering—whether you knew Arthur personally, have an interest in piping, or are simply curious to discover more about our area’s remarkable musical heritage.
‘A specially created exhibition will tell their fascinating stories and reveal how this small part of Argyll has produced and inspired some truly exceptional musicians. There will also be plenty of wonderful live piping to enjoy. The Taynuilt Youth Pipe Band will bring the gathering to a close—a wonderfully fitting reminder that this rich local tradition is still flowing into the next generation.
‘Come because you knew Arthur—or come because you would like to discover why his life and legacy continue to mean so much to the piping world.’
Arthur would be so humbled by this, but well done to the local community for giving recognition to the man and his music.

The 2026 London Recital takes place from 6.30pm to 10pm on Friday, 2 October, at St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate, London. Tickets are £85.
It promises to be an evening of exceptional piping with Callum Beaumont, Ben Duncan and the Scots Guards providing the piping.
