The Piobaireachd Society’s third ‘Talk Piobaireachd’ session of 2021 takes place this Wednesday, March 17, at 8pm GMT. These popular discussions are open to members of the Society and have proved very popular.
The Society’s former President Dr Jack Taylor (above) is in the hot seat for what is sure to be another engrossing hour of information, ideas and thoughts on ceòl mòr and particular tunes in the repertoire.
It is is suggested that those attending the session should have their Kilberry Book or Piobaireachd Society Collection readily available.
The General Committee of the Society has recently extended the capacity of its Zoom meetings to 500 making access for a majority of its membership easier.
A report on previous lectures can be accessed on the Society’s website. If you are not a member of the Society but would like to attend these sessions you can join the Society beforehand.
Further lectures in the current series are scheduled from Jack Lee (April) and Duncan Watson (May).
In addition to the ‘Talk Piobaireachd’ sessions, members of the Society enjoy many other benefits including access to a vast archive of recordings and manuscripts, discounts on the PS Webshop, and entry to Society’s competition for amateur pipers, the Archie Kenneth Quaich.
