Today we begin a series which will be a must read for all enthusiasts and students of ceol mor. It concerns James Campbell of Kilberry (1916 – 2003), one of the important figures in 20th century piping. The series begins with the first instalment of a lecture given by his former pupil, Jonathan Gillespie, earlier this year. Subsequent excerpts will further explore James’s life and teaching, and evaluate his considerable contribution to ceol mor, the Piobaireachd Society and piping literature. Read more here.
