TIn January 1918, the South and Port Melbourne Thistle Society announced that women would be enrolled in its pipe band. This society’s male band was no weak or novelty outfit. It was a champion band. Worlds Draw Announced as Numbers Exceed 2025

The RSPBA has confirmed the entry of 211 bands for this year’s World Pipe Band Championships to be held in Glasgow over two days, August 14/15. Last year we had 202 bands. This year there are entrants from all pipe-playing regions of the world. Forres and Luss Games Results

Both these games were held last Saturday, July 4th. Luss, on the shores of Loch Lomond, was blustery with showers. Forres, on the Moray coast, had more clement weather.
