A successful competition was held in the new Oban High School today (Sat May 5). There were healthy entries in all grades except the P/A Piobaireachd where nine entered but seven played. P/M Jimmy Banks reports: Jonathon Simpson of Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band won our KO final yesterday beating Ben Duncan of the Army School. A huge audience of 70+ in the Guards Club at Haymarket. We had two really good performances. Each piper entertained us well. I had Ian McLellan, Walter Cowan and Jim Henderson as judges and they all endorsed Jonathon as a worthy winner on the day….
