The Worlds Week concert due to be given by Inveraray & District PIpe Band on August 12 has been postponed for one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kurt MacIntosh, representing promoters Glasgow Skye Association Pipe Band, issued the following statement:
‘Given yesterday’s announcement from the RSPBA that this year’s World Pipe Band Championships have been cancelled, we regret that we have also taken the decision to reschedule our pre-Worlds concert featuring Inveraray & District Pipe Band, the current World Champions.
‘This is without question the correct decision as the health and wellbeing of everyone takes precedence over anything else.
‘We feel particularly sad for Inveraray who were gearing up for a fabulous concert. This year’s event was the quickest selling concert we have ever hosted so I am sure everyone will be disappointed that we are unable to bring this to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (RCH) this year.
‘I am delighted to announce, however, that the band will headline the rescheduled event in August 2021.
‘We will be discussing the details of the rescheduling with RCH on Monday when the office opens and will put out further information as soon as possible. Please bear with us until then.’
