The 2016 Capt. John MacLellan Memorial Medal went to Ian Speirs (left) after a close contest held last night in Edinburgh. The other competitors were Callum Beaumont, Roderick MacLeod, Innes Smith  and Greig Wilson, New Zealand. The adjudicator was William Livingstone, Ontario. Iain Speirs won the medal last year too. Day Two at the Argyllshire Gathering saw the bulk of the ceol beag events taking place at Mossfield Park, Oban. The competing pipers were led there by the winner of the Gold Medal from yesterday.
