Worlds: Inveraray Take the Big One/ Scotland Win Every Grade Bar One

Inveraray Pipe Band under P/M Stuart Liddell and L/D Steven McWhirter are the new World Pipe Band Champions. They were placed ahead of Northern Ireland’s Field Marshal Montgomery, so reversing last year’s 1/2. Inveraray also took the drumming title. 220 bands took part across all grades. Worlds Grade 1 Qualifiers Announced, ‘Brolly Wars’ Discussed and Drones Banned!

The Qualifying Heats for the Grade 1 World Pipe Band Championship were held today at a blustery but ultimately dry Glasgow Green. Pic above is of the 78th Fraser Highlanders who unfortunately didn’t make it to the final.  Twenty bands were vying for 12 places in tomorrow’s final.
