Well folks the long wait is nearly over….. this weekend sees the start of the 2018 band season with four UK pipe band contests and most Grade 1 bands having a run in preparation for the British Championships at Paisley (May 19). Piobaireachd Composing Competition Winners Announced

Vincent Janoski of New Jersey, USA, is the winner of the 2018 piobaireachd composing competition promoted by the Shasta Piping Society of California and the Burley Bagpipe Company. The RU Brown Piobaireachd Society Gold Medal and Clasp competitions are probably the most prestigious in Australia. This year’s contests took place last weekend at the Scotch College, Adelaide, South Australia, with over 120 competitors in eight different classes.
