This prestigious contest for professional solo pipers aged under 22 was held yesterday, October 19th, at Lochnell Castle, Benderloch, Argyll, courtesy the Earl of Dundonald.
The overall champion, by piobaireachd preference, was Cameron May, from Dillarburn, Lanarkshire.
He is pictured above with (l) Ross Conner, Campbeltown, winner of the MSR, and (r) Ruiraidh Brown, Dunblane, winner of the Ceòl Mòr.
Cameron received the overall trophy and the Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society Bronze Medal and £200. Ross received the W McCallum Snr. Memorial Chanter. Ruiraidh received the Jimmy McIntosh Memorial Piobaireachd Trophy. The full results were as follows:

Each competitor received substantial expenses on top of prizemoney. The competition was created to celebrate 150 years since the inauguration of the Argyllshire Gathering. This was its fourth year.
Each piper had to submit four tunes of his own choice, tunes given in the final tuning room. There were eight invitees.
