A successful competition was held in the new Oban High School today (Sat May 5). There were healthy entries in all grades except the P/A Piobaireachd where nine entered but seven played. The UK Pipe Band Championships will be held on June 16 at the Stormont Estate, Northern Ireland. Here is the order of play and the judges in Grade 1 courtesy the RSPBA. Piobaireachd Society Promote ‘Hidden Treasure’ Concert in Edinburgh

The Piobaireachd Society is to promote a concert of ceol mor as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this coming August. The concert is entitled ‘Classical Pipe Music – Scotland’s Hidden Treasure’. The date is Sunday, August 12, at 7pm. The venue is the newly refurbished, 200-seat St Cecilia’s Hall, Edinburgh.
