Competition Updates: Inveraray, Kenmore, Oban

Kyle Shead plays for Barry Donaldson and Jimmy Banks at Inveraray

Inveraray Games: Piping Convenor Brian Spalding has advised the following, ‘The Solo Piping Committee wish to thank all who have so far entered for the contests at this year’s Games, on Tuesday 22nd July.

‘The response since opening entries on the 19th May has been unprecedented and we are already at capacity for entries in each discipline of Senior Grades B and C. We already have a number of reserves for each discipline in these grades and while entries remain open until June 30th, we regret to advise any prospective entrants at these grades that it is already highly unlikely you can expect to play in the contests at Inveraray this year.

‘While Grade P & A still has spaces, these too are filling up fast and we advise prospective entrants to get their entries to us as quickly as possible. All Junior level contests remain with spaces available but these too are heading for a record number of participants for Inveraray.

‘We wish to also advise all entrants particularly those travelling from the south to Inveraray that the A83 is subject to a number of road traffic management directives over the summer at the Rest And Be Thankful (convoy and use of the Old Military Road to be in operation) so please check the Traffic Scotland website for further advice and where applicable allow additional time (15-30 minutes usually) for your journey.’
