Jimmy McIntosh Scholarship
The 2025-26 Scholarship Fund is now open for applications for piobaireachd tuition, beginning this summer. The scholarship provides promising pipers with advanced instruction in the Balmoral tradition of piobaireachd from some of Jimmy’s most successful students, master players who are full-time bagpipe instructors: Mike Cusack, Andrew Carlisle, Nick Hudson, Nancy Tunnicliffe, Amy Garson or Mike Rogers.
The scholarship recipient will receive travel expenses to attend a weekend workshop in February 2026 at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. At the workshop, they will receive further in-person instruction and participate in a recital. In accordance with Jimmy’s teaching style, scholarship recipients will be expected to learn at least three new piobaireachds during their tenure.
