A popular piper was one of the 12 victims of yesterday’s Virginia Beach shooting in the USA. Most of the dead worked for the resort city’s council.
The piper was Christopher Rapp. `he played for the Tidewater Pipes and Drums, a south east Virginia pipe band.
US news agencies reported that Christopher had worked for the council for 11 months. He loved Scottish music according to reports.
The band remembered Christopher on Facebook: ‘Chris recently moved to Virginia Beach and immediately joined the band after learning to play the bagpipes from our friends in the Greater Richmond Pipes & Drums. He was quiet, but had a passion for the pipes and Scottish culture.
‘We are heartbroken to share the news that our bandmate was one of the victims of Friday’s senseless shooting.
‘He is pictured here at the 2018 Central Virginia Celtic Festival and Highland Games. Peace be with his wife, Bessie, and their loved ones.’
