Bratach Gorm Goes Modern

SPSL logo
Scottish Piping Society of London Vice President Roddy Livingstone has issued this statement:

Dear All,

An important announcement regarding the 2015 Bratach Gorm will be published shortly on the Scottish Piping Society of London’s website. The format of the competition has been altered to encourage the playing and promotion of piobaireachd composed during the last one hundred years.  2015 has been considered a suitable year for this innovation given the set tunes for the Senior events at the Argyllshire Gathering and the Northern Meeting are comparatively well known, and the conditions for the Highland Society of London’s Gold Medals involve an ‘own choice’ list.
The SPSL has worked closely with the Piobaireachd Society, adjudicators and competitors on this project which has attracted very strong support. Please feel free to address any questions you may have to me.
Kind regards

Roddy Livingstone
