Over 200 young pipers and drummers competed today in Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band’s Junior Championship. Events covered chanter, 13 & Under, 15 & Under and 18 & Under piping and drumming. The competition was held in Calderhead High School, Shotts. Judges were all drawn from the ranks of currently competing pipers. The RSPBA Music Board has added a handful of new tunes to the lists of those available for Grade 4A, 4B and Novice A & B for the 2020 season. One tune Dora MacLeod has been added erroneously, it seems, to the two-parted strathspey lists. The new tunes are three 2-part marches, three 2-part strathspeys and one 4-part strathspey.
