
The annual Pibroch by the Sea festival will be held at Cancale, Brittany, 14 -15th September. This will be the 20th year of the festival.
The 2025 piobaireachd workshop will be conducted by Silver Medallist Hervé le Floc’h and Jakez Pincet the festival founder.

Piping Live
The festival runs from Monday 11th to Sunday 17th August. Most events will be held in and around the Piping Centre in Glasgow.
Highlights of this year’s programme: The festival ‘Big Band’ sees pipers and drummers of all ages and abilities joining a mass participation march from Mansfield Park in Partick, Glasgow, to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
R.G. Hardie & Co Masters Solo Piping Competition kickstarts the week (Aug 11)and features first prize winners from Oban and Inverness.
From Monday 11th to Thursday 14th August, there will be free, open-air performances in Glasgow city centre from the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pipes and Drums, Brisbane Boys College, Murrumba Pipe Band and more.
The ‘Pipe Idol’ competition for pipers under 21 returns and is sponsored by Fred Morrison Pipes.
The Gordon Duncan Memorial Piping Competition is on the afternoon of Wednesday 13th August. Supported by the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust – four pipers play Scottish, Irish and Breton music.
Scottish Schools Fest
Today and tomorrow (5th and Friday 6th June) will see the second year of this festival run by the Scottish Schools Pipes and Drums Trust
Edinburgh’s Mound Precinct will be the venue for 13 performances from school pipe bands, ceilidh groups, and traditional music ensembles representing Edinburgh, Falkirk, Stirlingshire, East Lothian and the Highlands
