I’m delighted to be able to confirm today that the ABS Piping School, supported and funded by Achiltibuie Bagpipe Specialists Ltd is due to open on the 1st of February 2019.
Led by myself, former schools instructor in both Falkirk and Highland Council Regions, the school is designed to offer a structured learning platform to both develop, nurture and showcase talent in the Falkirk area.
With already more than 50 students signed up, it promises to be a fantastic opportunity for the continued resurgence in piping amongst young people.
With dedicated classrooms, complete with large and interactive screens, making full use of the advances in technology.
Our main aim is to provide an enjoyable learning environment, in group lessons, whilst making music accessible and fun.

The school costs £25 per month, which includes all tuition materials and music.
With this, it provides a weekly lesson, with access to the schools vast video library, where every single exercise and tune is recorded, exercises explained in detail, and also being fully able to utilise these on mobile phones and tablets out-with the classroom.
Gary adds: ‘For me, after relocating from Ullapool back to Falkirk, I’ve been asked a lot about tuition.
‘It’s great to be able to set this school up, with plans in the future to also add drumming tuition.
‘I was lucky enough to learn myself whilst young in Falkirk, and will always be thankful that I was able to use that tuition throughout my life.
‘I’m looking forward to being able to provide the same opportunities for the next generations of budding pipers.’
