George Balderose has sent this: The 12th Annual Balmoral Classic featuring a weekend of piping events, including the US Junior Solo Piping and Scottish Snare Drumming Championships, will take place in Pittsburgh on November 16-18.
Top piping prizes include vintage sets of bagpipes donated by David Naill and McCallum bagpiping manufacturers; Overall Drumming winner will receive a new Premier HTS 800 snare drum donated by Henderson Imports. in addition, trophies, medals, scholarships, and additional prizes will be awarded to the top five winners in each of the two piping events and two drumming events.

Highlights of this year’s event include: A Friday night, November 16 contra dance for the competitors, families, guests, supporters of the Balmoral Classic, and the public with music provided by the Balmoral Classic judges and other musicians.
On Saturday evening after the competition there will be an awards ceremony followed by a concert in a the splendid Carnegie Lecture Hall, a 600 seat theater familiar to Pittsburgh concert goers.
