Start times at Newtonmore on Saturday have changed. Locals, Juniors (includes chanter competition), and Seniors all must register by 10am with the start time 10.30. Entries £1 for Juniors, £2 for Seniors (P/M/S&R/J)
Catrin Tilley, Asst. Secretary at Rannoch Gathering: ‘We would be most grateful if the following could be posted about our piping competition on 15th August. We have competitions for adults and under 18s with four different classes.
Rannoch is a great day out and we have generous prizes. Top prize £50 for adults, £35 for under 18s. The judge is Neill Mulvie. the venue is Kinloch Rannoch village park and gates open at 11am; register on the day.’
Dundonald Games (Ayrshire) are this Saturday. The new piobaireachd event is sponsored by the Piobaireachd Society and has attracted a full entry beginning at noon. Piping Convenor Bob Stewart: ‘The competition is certainly growing. It looks like next year we will have to start in the morning! Two years ago we had four or five doing Light Music and three or four juniors. Since the introduction of the piobaireachd the competition is taking off.’ Judges are Derek Fraser, Peter Hunt, Ronald MacShannon and John Wilson.
