Ulster Championships Go Ahead/ CLASP Overall 23-24 Winners Announced

The 71st Ulster Pipe Band & Drum Major Championships will be held in the grounds of Cookstown High School, Cookstown, Co.Tyrone, on August 3rd from 10am.

RSPBANI Chairman Alastair Patterson said: ‘After earlier disappointments, we have worked hard to secure a venue for this year’s event. It is great to be working in collaboration with our Mid Ulster Section and also with the team at Mid Ulster District Council in the delivery of this premier event.

‘There is ample parking at the school (£5) and card payments at the gate. There will also be plenty of food and drink vendors on the day and we will all hope for pleasant weather.’ More information here.

Check out the draw here. Grade 1 play a Medley and MSR, Grade 2 a Medley, and all other grades MSR or March.

CLASP 23-24:

Please see below the winners of The CLASP 2023/2024, writes Margaret Houlihan. Inveraray Highland Games brings the league to a conclusion each year.

This year’s overall league winners are:
Grade 1 – Edmund Boland, Ireland (piob. pref.)
Grade 2 – John Nevans
Grade 3 – Adam Aitchison
Grade 4 – Steve Langford, USA

League winners are determined from points gained from both in-person and online competitions. The new league traditionally starts at Piping Live.

The CLASP also has a separate online league, which uses points gained from online competitions only.
