In all day rain and cool temperatures, the 2016 BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival was held on June 18 at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam, BC.
116 solo players and 13 bands competed with events judged by adjudicators from four pipe band associations (BCPA adjudicators, and Ann Gray of ASPD, Glenn Kvidahl of WUSPBA, and Bob Worrall of PPBSO).
The Open Piping Aggregate was won by Alastair Lee and the Open Snare Drumming Aggregate was won by Grant Maxwell. Zephan Knichel captured the Open Piobaireachd, which was held the night before.
During the closing ceremony, the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band performed ‘Hallelujah’ accompanied by Open pipers Zachary Read on vocals & keyboard and Alastair Lee on guitar. Partial results are listed below with complete results at http://www.bcpipers.org/results
