Five bands competed in Juvenile, 14 in Novice A and 30 in Novice B. These competitions took place today (Aug.15)after the first round of MSRs and Medleys in Grade 1 were completed at 2.30pm.

Weather conditions were perfect with warm winds and cloud cover protecting against a fierce sun. There was a large crowd in attendance, probably the best there has been for the Worlds on a Friday and a significant influx of enthusiasts entered Glasgow Green mid afternoon for the start of the junior contests.

The weather is set fair for tomorrow but if you cannot manage to Glasgow Green for day 2 of the Worlds here’s the link for the Saturday livestream. Viewers need to create an account.

Things should be over rather earlier than usual given that the lengthy march past has been scrapped in favour of the ‘all in at once’ approach adopted successfully at the Europeans in Perth.
