The first three places in the Gold were the same as Oban. The above picture is of Ian K on stage today at the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, today. The last person to win the double was Douglas Murray, Fife, in 2014.
The Silver Medal went to young Connor Sinclair of Crieff who went two better than at Oban where he placed third.

Ian K’s bagpipe will not be bettered in competition at the 2016 Northern Meeting. Sean MacKeown played beautifully too, but his bagpipe was marginally less fulsome than Ian’s and at this level of competition that can make a huge difference.’
