A Perthshire school is providing online piping, poetry and prose for those interested in celebrating Robert Burns.
Strathallan School, based in Forgandenny, took the decision to host its annual Burns Supper online this year but thousands of viewers from across the globe have already tuned in to celebrate the Bard.
Hosted on YouTube, the 30-minute video was initially created to help Strathallan families celebrate Burns Night but the video has proved very popular online with almost 2000 views from as far afield as Saudi Arabia, Canada and Germany.
Aileen Wilson, Alumni & External Relations Manager at Strathallan, who organised the event said she was amazed at how many views it already had received.
“We’ve been toasting Robbie Burns at Strathallan for as long as I can remember so we couldn’t imagine not having a Burns Night. Taking it online this year has allowed us to continue a significant tradition for the school but it has also meant we could include more amazing performances and share the wonderful talent of our pupils and staff with anyone who wants to celebrate Burns.”
