Lockdown Painting Challenge – Three Finalists Selected by Judge Mathieson

Judge Robert Mathieson with his painting of the Worlds trophy, a trophy he won on five occasions

Here we go with the three paintings/drawings that have made the final of our Lockdown Challenge. We are delighted that adjudicator Robert Mathieson, a graduate of Edinburgh School of Art, has found time to do a voiceover presentation for us with suitable comment on the successful entries.

Many will know Pipe Major Mathieson from the world of piping and pipe bands. Fewer will know that he is also a skilled artist who trained at Edinburgh School of Art where he gained an honours degree and was then picked to study as a post graduate for an additional year at Heriot Watt University & Edinburgh School of Art.

There is no one in the piping world better qualified to act as our adjuicator and we are very grateful to Robert for giving us his time and the benefit of his expertise. Watch his presentation now to discover who made his final list. As Robert says at the end, stay tuned to Piping Press for the winner.

All congratulations to those who made the final. In addition to the winner, we will also be announcing shortly the results of the readers’ poll. Will you all agree with P/M Mathieson? Here are all thirteen entries again:
