National Mod Piping is in Glasgow and Will Be Livestreamed

This weekend sees the start of the Royal National Mod 2019 which is to be hosted in Glasgow for the first time in 29 years. Kicking off the week long competition schedule will be the Senior and Junior piping competitions which are to be held in the Glasgow Royal Concert hall on Saturday 12th October with competitions starting at 9:30am.

This year entry numbers for the senior competitions have increased to 20 individual competitors with Piobaireachd competitions being held in the morning session and MSR and H&J to be held in the afternoon session.

For the first time this year’s senior competition will be livestreamed on Feis TV for anyone not able to make it along on the day.

Alongside the senior events will be the junior competitions, a revamp of the syllabus for this year has seen good increase in entries across all age groups and classes with competitions in Chanter, Novice, 15 & Under and 16-18 years.

All competitions are to be held in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall giving competitors the opportunity to compete in this iconic venue. Senior competitions are to be held in the New Auditorium and Junior Competitions in the Strathclyde Suite and Exhibition Hall.
