New P/M’s Job in School Pipe Band

James Gillespie’s High School wish to appoint a Pipe Major to lead the school’s thriving Pipe Band. The successful candidate will complete a handover with Drum Major Graeme Peters and outgoing PM Jonathon Simpson in late June, and begin formally in August 2017.
The Pipe Major will be responsible for delivering tuition via lessons during school time and directing band practices after school. The band regularly perform in concerts and competitions throughout the year. The ideal candidate will have experience developing young chanter and bagpipe players of various levels and of leading a pipe band.
There are currently twenty one pipers receiving tuition in school, which represents one full day for the instructor, but this is expected to grow with the imminent introduction of primary school tuition.
