Cowal Games Solos (updated with pix etc.)

Wet and blustery in Dunoon but a good entry. Alasdair Henderson continued his successful run from Oban taking both ‘A’ Grade light music events. The picture above shows Calum Watson Champion Piper in the ‘B’ Grade events.

They breed them tough in the USA….piper Dan Lyden takes everything the weather can throw at him. Looking on are judges Andrew Wright and Andrew Frater

The biggest cheer of the day however came when US piper Dan Lyden competed in the piobaireachd in pouring rain (check the pic closely). His fellow competitors, huddled in a nearby tent, witnessed his rite of passage and roared their approval when he finished. The judges must have been impressed too awarding him fourth prize.
