The New England Piping Academy: ‘Calling all pipers in New England: Would you like four days of intense study all aimed at making you a better player? Why not avail yourself of world-class instruction in beautiful woodland surroundings at a venue with first class dining? There can be no better facility than Adelynrood Retreat at Byfield MA where the first New England Piping Academy will be held from June 24 -28 inclusive. The daily programme will cover all aspects of performance, piping technique, bagpipe setting up and playing together in a band.

‘Students will be taught one-to-one and in small groups as need dictates and all will be under the guidance of Robert Wallace, one of the world’s most sought after bagpipe educators, and leading US piper Matt Pantaleoni. Mr Wallace’s students number some of the best players in the world and he will come to the camp direct from adjudicating the United States Piping Foundation Professional competition to be held at the University of Delaware on June 20th.

‘A full Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board exam programme will be available to those who wish to sit examinations. All students will receive a free interactive tutor/exercise book and a course completion certificate. Register here; day students welcome.'[wds id=”10″]

The City of Brechin Pipe Band have sent this: ‘We are a Grade 3A band and are looking for an experienced drummer to take up the position of Lead Drummer for next season. This might seem like a strange time to be looking for a lead tip with the outdoor season having just started but maybe there is someone out there looking for a new challenge. Our previous lead drummer left to live in New Zealand in October and our current lead drummer is only doing it this season so that the band can get out. We are an ambitious Grade 3 band well worth a listen with the majority of our members taught within the band. Look out for us this season and give us a listen. Anyone interested can contact our secretary via secretary@cobpb.co.uk.’
