New US Piping School to be Held in June


The New England Piping Academy will hold its first summer camp this coming June. Venue is the Adelynrood Retreat & Conference Centre near Byfield, MA,  a beautiful woodland setting perfect for bagpipe study and relaxation.

The official blurb reads: The New England Piping Academy will hold its first summer camp at Adelynrood Conference Centre, Byfield, MA, from June 24 – 28. The Principal of the Academy is Robert Wallace one of the world’s leading bagpipe educators. This will be his fifth teaching visit to New England. Other top instructors will be added as numbers dictate. All levels of ability will be catered for at the camp and instruction will cover all aspects of Highland bagpipe music from easy marches and airs to competition MSRs and ceol mor.

RW-tuning-pipes‘Emphasis will be placed on bagpipe tuning and tone, reed manipulation and setting up. PDQB examinations will be offered during the school. Adelynrood Conference Centre is an idyllic retreat offering fine dining in pleasant woodland surroundings. After each day’s work there will be a convivial evening piping ceilidh where students and instructors will play a few tunes among friends.
