PP Academy: Sound Advice for Bands/ Cupar Games

Pipe Major Barry Donaldson of the Grade 2 City of Edinburgh Pipe Band today offers some advice for lower grade pipe majors on how they can get the best possible sound from their pipe corps.

P/M Donaldson, winner of many Worlds Grade 1 titles with Strathclyde Police and a senior solo piping adjudicator, kindly agreed to respond to a request for such assistance from one of our US readers. Read the article here. The band pictured above at the Scottish Championships at Dumbarton is the Grade 4b CoP Pipes & Drums, P/M Iain Watson.

News has reached the PP newsdesk that another games is considering pulling the plug on its piping competitions.  The committee at Cupar Games in Fife, it seems, are the alleged culprits. However, as yet we have been unable to confirm anything so stay tuned for updates. If anyone can help put the record straight please contact us. The games are scheduled for June 13.
