Lomond & Clyde Seek New P/M & A Look Back at 1823

P/M David Wotherspoon has stepped down as P/M of the Lomond & Clyde Pipe Band after a very successful period in charge, winning many major championships in Grade 2. In a statement the band said:

‘The band would like to announce that Pipe Major David Wotherspoon has this evening stepped down from his position with Lomond and Clyde. 

‘Davie has been instrumental to the band’s progression since being appointed to the position in 2008. Along with lead drummer Allan Craig, Davie led to band to its greatest achievements, placing in 24 of the 30 championships competed, and our winning the Scottish Championship in 2013.

‘Davie leaves the band in a strong position due to his incredible commitment over the last six years, and leaves with our best wishes for all future endeavours.'[wds id=”4″]
‘Lomond and Clyde Pipe Band are a top Grade 2 band based in the West of Scotland.
 We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic individual to fill the vacant position of Pipe Major.

‘Applicants should have a strong track record of playing and setting up a band from the higher grades of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and have the ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and leadership skills to drive the band forward. Currently there is a fully committed pipe and drum corps in place. The continuous encouragement, development and progression of the pipe band in the future is paramount to the role along with upholding the values of Lomond and Clyde Pipe Band.
