SFU World’s Week Concert Details

Douglas Orr of promoters Glasgow Skye Association Pipe Band reports: Tickets for this concert go on sale on 21 November 2014 and can be purchased directly from the concert hall. The title of the concert for this year is ‘Nous Sommes Prets’ (We are ready) which is the motto of the university and the title of the band’s first album. This is also a reflection of how the band feel as they prepare for the 2015 competition circuit. Below is a short script from the band which will accompany the poster on the Concert Hall website.

The Simon Fraser University Pipe Band

‘Nous Sommes Prets’ – The Simon Fraser University Pipe Band are world-renowned performers and competitors of piping and drumming. SFU, from Burnaby, British Columbia, has captured the World Championships in Glasgow a total of six times and have pushed the boundaries of the pipe band world with albums recorded at some of the world’s most prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Lincoln Center. See them perform live in concert just days before they once again compete for the title of World Champions on August 14th and 15th at Glasgow Green.
