Ullapool & District Pipe Band Tutor Gary Nimmo reports: ‘It’s exciting times in Wester Ross with over 70 pipers and drummers attending weekly pipe band practices. To continue the rapid progression we are looking to appoint a Part Time Drumming Instructor to teach in stunningly beautiful Wester Ross in the North West Highlands. This would be a paid position with responsibility for the effective tuition and development of drummers in the areas of Ullapool and Gairloch.
This position is initially intended for six hours per week however, for applicants moving into the area, support will be available for increased employment and accommodation.
The key roles of the successful application will be:
• Writing and implementation of scores
• Development of group work to create drum corps suitable to compete at grade 4a and Novice Juvenile
• Tuition of both Snare section as well as bass section
• Assistance with SQA level tuition to assist Drummers sitting school level music.’
